Company Overview

From humble beginnings as a one man residential plumbing contractor in Sylvan Lake, MI in 1956, FM Sylvan has evolved into a market-leading, trusted industrial services contractor to Fortune 100 and government customers throughout North America. The FM Sylvan story is rich and varied. Regardless of project scope or economic landscape, some important values have guided us throughout our history, and remain important guideposts as we expand and grow in the twenty-first century and beyond.

Most important is our enduring commitment to quality service, on-time and within budget delivery, and strong financial management.  These three principles inform every project - whether that project was a $5.25 plumbing project in 1956, or a multi-million dollar installation and fabrication project today. FM Sylvan's business has been built on a foundation of customer success, resting on the belief that sequential, incremental and sustainable growth is predicated on a high rate of repeat business. When it came time to expand beyond a regional Michigan-based operation, we followed our customers into new markets, and evolved our capabilities to meet their needs.

Today, FM Sylvan has completed project work in 36 U.S. States, Canada, Mexico, and China. Yet despite this growth, we have maintained the culture that allowed the company to grow by cultivating and fostering superior customer relationships. By continuously refining our services, developing the industry's most stringent safety program, embracing the latest quality standards and best practices, and maintaining a strong financial backbone, FM Sylvan has achieved a position as the leading industrial services contractor in the markets we serve.
